Job description

Role Summary

This position leads sales execution across an assigned region for the Grocery Sales or Coffee Service division. The manager is responsible for guiding a strong field sales team, growing revenue, overseeing Direct Store Delivery (DSD) accounts, and delivering company sales targets through planning, performance tracking, and customer partnership.

Reporting Line and Work Setup

The role reports to the Sr. Director of Sales Execution. It is an on-site position based in San Antonio, TX, and requires travel of up to 50% within the assigned region.

Key Duties

  • Create, roll out, and track strategic sales plans to support annual business goals.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing sales team while supporting succession planning.
  • Support the growth and retention of DSD accounts across the region.
  • Guide the regional DSD sales team to meet performance targets, strengthen customer relationships, resolve account issues, grow sales, and improve sales processes.
  • Lead forecasting efforts and review sales performance by location to establish goals, shape policies, and improve results.
  • Oversee channel development and sales distribution by defining territories, quotas, and routing approaches.
  • Track regional spending, align expenses with budget goals, and manage full profit and loss responsibility for the area.
  • Work directly with important accounts, especially those that are complex, high-value, or at risk, to support relationship management, negotiations, and deal closure.
  • Set and uphold sales performance measures to protect profitability and long-term account health.
  • Partner with other functions to provide field support that aligns with company priorities.
  • Travel regularly to customer locations and perform duties using a company vehicle or other transportation as needed.
  • Carry out supervisory duties in line with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Take on other tasks as required.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of management or supervisory experience in a DSD sales setting is required.
  • Applicant must be 21 years of age or older.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • An acceptable driving record is required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and handheld point-of-sale systems is preferred.
  • For internal candidates, prior experience with Community Coffee may satisfy the experience requirement at the hiring manager’s discretion with Human Resources approval.

Physical and Work Environment Details

  • The job involves frequent sitting.
  • Standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reaching, and speaking or hearing may be required occasionally.
  • The role requires the ability to lift or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Required vision capabilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, along with the ability to adjust focus.
  • Most work is performed in an office setting, where noise levels are typically quiet.
