About GEHA

Government Employees Health Association, Inc. (G.E.H.A) is a nonprofit membership organization established in 1937 that delivers health and dental benefits to millions of federal employees, retirees, military retirees, and their families. It provides one of the most extensive health and dental networks accessible to federal employees nationwide, focused on supporting members' health and wellness whenever and wherever they need care.

Role Overview

We are currently looking for an organized and proactive Field Sales Manager to foster relationships with government benefits professionals within federal agencies. This role is vital in expanding G.E.H.A's federal benefits professional database and generating qualified sales opportunities. You will collaborate across teams to advance sales initiatives and events, supporting G.E.H.A’s mission to promote health and wellness for federal workers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain connections with federal agency benefits officers and HR personnel to promote G.E.H.A's products and services.
  • Act as G.E.H.A's representative at agency events, health fairs, and virtual forums to enhance member engagement and generate leads.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing departments to ensure outreach aligns with regional objectives.
  • Identify and participate in impactful events related to federal employee health and wellness education.
  • Deliver tailored presentations and product demonstrations to federal audiences.
  • Monitor engagement data, lead conversions, and return on investment from events to guide future strategies.
  • Keep abreast of trends in federal benefits, agency requirements, and competitive market conditions.
  • Serve as a regional subject matter expert and champion of G.E.H.A's mission and offerings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance sales processes, increase efficiency, and optimize resources.
  • Maintain detailed records of contractor activity, expenses, and performance, reporting regularly to management.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, best practices, and regulatory standards relevant to field sales, integrating these insights into program improvements.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, event management, or a relevant discipline; significant related work experience may substitute formal education.
  • At least 5 years of experience in event coordination, sales leadership, or similar roles, preferably within healthcare, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods sectors.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders including federal employees, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of clearly articulating complex information.
  • Demonstrated project management ability to juggle priorities, manage timelines, and coordinate resources effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail for accurate documentation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software, and other collaboration tools.
  • Capable of working both independently and cooperatively within team settings.
  • Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities, with a proactive, goal-directed approach.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for meetings, trainings, and events.

Location Preference

Ideal candidates should be located within the Washington D.C. Metro or New Jersey areas.

Work-from-Home Requirements

  • Must have reliable, non-cellular high-speed internet service (Fiber, DSL, cable modem) with a minimum speed of 30 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
  • Latency (ping) should be under 80 milliseconds.
  • Use of hotspots, satellite, or wireless internet services is prohibited.
  • A dedicated workspace free from interruptions to ensure confidentiality of member PHI/HIPAA data.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary range from $81,755 to $103,425 annually, with a maximum potential of $115,245 based on experience and performance.
  • Performance-based incentive plans.
  • Health, vision, and dental insurance effective immediately upon employment.
  • 401(k) plan with company match: dollar for dollar up to 4% employee contribution plus 6% annual company contribution.
  • Comprehensive employee wellness programs.
  • Paid time off and personal community enrichment time.
  • Basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance provided by the company.
  • Tuition assistance program to support further education.
