Company Overview
Axxelus is a globally recognized contract sales organization serving the biopharmaceutical sector. The company helps pharmaceutical and biotech clients bring therapies to market by creating strong sales teams that turn clinical and commercial understanding into compelling field messaging for primary care and specialty physicians.
The organization uses advanced recruiting tools to identify high-caliber talent and supports client continuity through its “Hire Right Guarantee.” Axxelus also emphasizes an inclusive workplace and collaborative partnerships across the healthcare value chain. Team members contribute to expanding access to innovative therapies and shaping higher standards across life sciences.
Role Overview
The Regional Sales Director will work remotely on a contract basis, leading regional sales execution for Axxelus clients in the pharmaceutical and biotech space. The position is focused on growing revenue, guiding sales teams, and ensuring that brand strategy is delivered consistently across the region.
Key Responsibilities
This role involves managing regional sales strategy, coaching field teams, and providing regular feedback to improve performance. The director will build strong relationships with physicians and other regional stakeholders, monitor sales performance through data analysis, and identify opportunities to expand market reach.
Additional responsibilities include partnering with client leadership and internal teams, supporting territory design and coverage, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and company policies, and equipping field teams with the training, tools, and resources they need to succeed.
Qualifications
Applicants should bring a solid background in sales and business development, ideally with a history of meeting or surpassing regional revenue goals in pharmaceutical or biotech settings. Experience in sales operations such as forecasting, territory planning, pipeline oversight, and performance analysis is important.
Strong client-facing and customer service skills are needed to build durable relationships with healthcare professionals and regional decision-makers. The role also calls for proven team leadership experience, including recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of remote or field-based teams.
Knowledge of the pharmaceutical, biotech, or broader life sciences industry is required, along with awareness of compliance and regulatory requirements related to promotion and sales. Candidates should also have excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities, and be comfortable working independently while handling shifting priorities and client needs.
A bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related discipline is expected. An MBA or similar advanced degree would be considered an advantage. Prior leadership experience with district, regional, or national sales teams in a contract sales organization or comparable environment is strongly preferred.
Additional Information
This is a remote contract opportunity based in the United States.
