Role overview
This position leads sales expansion and market development across Asia Pacific for construction and mining machinery. The role is based in Singapore and carries responsibility for managing regional sales teams, deepening customer and dealer partnerships, and delivering strong commercial outcomes across priority markets.
Beyond core sales leadership, the role also oversees the aftersales service and parts sales functions in Singapore. The objective is to improve service-driven revenue, parts performance, customer satisfaction, and long-term support for equipment in the field. This is a senior commercial leadership role that calls for strong business judgment, practical experience across regional markets, and frequent travel throughout Asia Pacific.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement the Asia Pacific sales plan to meet targets for revenue, margin, market share, and overall business growth.
- Direct sales teams across the region, with close attention to pipeline health, sales execution, forecasting, and country-level performance.
- Manage direct selling activities, key account growth, tender pursuits, and contract discussions with construction and mining customers.
- Develop and maintain strong dealer, distributor, and partner relationships to broaden market reach and lift commercial performance.
- Track market movements, competitor activity, customer requirements, and country-specific opportunities to guide planning and product positioning.
- Lead the Singapore-based aftersales service and parts sales teams to increase service income, spare parts sales, customer satisfaction, and lifecycle support.
- Represent the business at customer meetings, dealer visits, exhibitions, and regional business reviews, with substantial travel expected across Asia Pacific.
Requirements
- A degree in Business, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marketing, or a closely related discipline is required; an MBA is considered an advantage.
- At least 12 years of experience in sales or commercial leadership, ideally within heavy machinery, construction equipment, mining equipment, or industrial capital equipment.
- Demonstrated success leading regional sales teams across multiple Asia Pacific markets and collaborating with dealers, distributors, and major customers.
- Strong history of meeting sales goals, opening new markets, building key accounts, and delivering profitable growth.
- Working knowledge of aftersales service and parts sales, including service revenue, spare parts, warranty support, and equipment uptime.
- Well-developed leadership, commercial, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Must be based in Singapore and able to travel extensively across Asia Pacific; English fluency is essential, and additional Asian languages are a plus.
