Role Overview
The Regional Leader of Marketing (RLM) serves as the marketing authority in their assigned region and manages the Area Leaders of Marketing (ALMs). This position focuses on training and developing ALMs in marketing knowledge, brand standards, marketing planning, and reporting. The RLM leads regional marketing initiatives, including negotiating prominent sponsorship deals, aligns marketing goals with the Regional Business Unit, and fosters strong collaboration with business unit leaders.
The role requires working in a fast-paced restaurant environment involving physical activities such as walking, standing, lifting, and bending, as well as exposure to food products, allergens, industrial equipment, and cleaning chemicals necessitating the use of personal protective equipment. Work takes place both indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit and onboard highly capable Area Leaders of Marketing within the region
- Lead and inspire a team of marketers, encouraging collaboration and innovation
- Provide ongoing development and targeted training to ALMs for growth opportunities
- Lead regional marketing planning, setting and revisiting yearly and quarterly goals in alignment with the Regional Business Unit
- Coach ALMs in creating and enhancing restaurant and market-level marketing plans
- Manage the sponsorship process including planning, contract negotiation, partnership stewardship, and optimization
- Lead high-profile sponsorship negotiations and execution
- Offer marketing support to restaurants and markets, including acting as backup where needed
- Support ALMs in organizing market-level activities to promote the brand and community engagement
- Visit restaurants and markets alongside ALMs to support activities and build community relations
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns and activities for new restaurant openings at the regional and market levels
- Ensure compliance with Raising Cane’s brand standards and marketing principles
- Develop and maintain regional marketing performance reporting and assist ALMs in reporting processes
- Collaborate with Regional Support Office teams to evolve programs, systems, and tools
- Ensure smooth rollout of new campaigns and tools, gathering feedback for continuous improvement
- Participate in support office activations and initiatives as required, alongside ALMs
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 8 years of marketing experience with leadership responsibilities preferred
- Experience in field marketing within multi-unit restaurant or retail settings
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop marketing teams
- Expertise in planning and negotiating sponsorships, including contract management and relationship building
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple evolving priorities
- Highly motivated, adaptable, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capability to work independently and team-oriented in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
- Willingness to travel up to 80% within the region and reside within the designated area
- Flexibility to work nonstandard hours, including nights and weekends, to support brand-promoting events
- Bachelor’s degree required; preference for Marketing or Communications education or equivalent experience
Compensation and Benefits
Starting annual salary ranges from $135,000 to $160,000, with additional incentives available. The total compensation package may include performance bonuses, discretionary rewards, and comprehensive benefits such as medical plans, financial benefits, 401(k) eligibility, and various paid time off options including vacation, sick leave, and parental leave. Pay is determined based on location, experience, and qualifications.
