Its mission is to help each community succeed by offering strong leadership, corporate support, and the tools and resources needed to achieve their goals. The company places importance on employee growth and values the unique experiences of residents and their families.

Role Overview

The organization is hiring a Regional Human Resource Director to oversee HR operations across multiple facilities in its network. This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance, applying best practices, and helping create a positive employee experience throughout the region.

Work Location and Travel

This is a mostly remote position with periodic travel to facilities as needed, along with possible visits to the corporate office. Candidates based in Minnesota, Pennsylvania, or the Chicago area of Illinois are preferred, though qualified applicants from other regions will also be considered. On-site presence may be necessary at a facility when circumstances require it.

What You Will Do

  • Support local HR teams with onboarding, benefits, employee relations, compliance, and day-to-day HR practices.
  • Ensure adherence to labor regulations, internal policies, and other required compliance standards.
  • Advise leadership on performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement strategy.
  • Coordinate and assist with HR audits conducted by regulators or external auditors.
  • Coach and train local HR staff so they can operate more effectively.
  • Handle HR issues such as employee concerns, investigations, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
  • Travel to facilities when needed to provide direct support, training, and compliance review.
  • Improve HR processes, simplify workflows, and help strengthen employee retention.
  • Work with senior leaders to create and roll out HR policies and initiatives.
  • Track industry developments and legal updates to keep HR practices current and compliant.
  • Identify learning and development needs that can build leadership strength across the company.
  • Offer recommendations to solve HR challenges and improve employee satisfaction and operational performance.

Experience and Qualifications

Applicants should have at least 2 years of multi-site or regional leadership experience and at least 2 years of HR leadership experience, ideally in healthcare. Overall HR experience should be 5 to 7 years. A willingness to travel between facilities is required. SHRM or PHR certification is considered an advantage, and experience in senior living is also a plus. A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred. Prior HRIS experience is necessary. Candidates should also have solid knowledge of employment laws, compliance, and HR best practices, along with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop HR professionals. Strong communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills are essential.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation with a full benefits package
  • Opportunities for professional advancement in a mission-focused organization
  • Supportive leadership and a collaborative workplace culture
