Position Overview
We are seeking a Regional General Manager to lead our accommodation and property management operations in the Northern New South Wales region, based in Byron Bay. This full-time onsite role requires dynamic leadership to drive a unified business model, expand property inventory, and ensure operational excellence aligned with corporate policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership to the local team by fostering commitment, loyalty, and ensuring all efforts align with company policies and strategic goals.
- Lead the transition to a single brand presence in the Byron region while managing expansion of listings across multiple digital platforms.
- Promote a constructive, solution-oriented workplace culture encouraging collaboration and innovation consistent with company values.
- Perform ongoing commercial reviews by analyzing operational performances and risks, instituting improvements to enhance outcomes.
- Maintain appropriate staffing and invest in the professional development and upskilling of team members to build resilience and expertise.
- Identify and implement operational innovations for process improvements and efficiency gains.
- Communicate strategic growth, retention, and efficiency initiatives to Senior Leadership with insights specific to local market dynamics.
- Support staff through feedback, training, and effective complaint handling to uphold high service standards.
- Drive monthly growth in managed accommodation properties through targeted acquisition and retention strategies.
- Analyze property portfolios to pinpoint trends and opportunities for business expansion.
- Establish and nurture partnerships with community groups, local businesses, vendors, and housekeeping companies to increase referrals and management contracts.
- Collaborate with central pricing and distribution teams to optimize revenue management and minimize operational costs.
- Ensure maximum visibility of properties across all online travel agencies (OTAs) and platforms to maximize market reach and earnings.
- Strengthen cross-business collaboration within the wider group to enhance performance and capitalize on cross-selling possibilities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with property owners, ensuring transparent communication and satisfaction.
- Oversee compliance through regular property inspections and maintenance, ensuring adherence to legislation and contracts.
- Address and resolve owner disputes and escalated issues promptly with an aim for mutually agreeable solutions.
- Streamline processes impacting guest experiences including after-hours support and management of traveller reviews to improve satisfaction and booking rates.
- Develop effective vendor relationships to meet service standards, promptly approve invoices, and handle escalations efficiently.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a current driver's license.
- Must be an Australian citizen, resident, or hold an appropriate work visa.
- Holding a relevant real estate certificate is desirable.
- Proven experience managing accommodation assets profitably with responsibility for a substantial profit and loss account.
- Demonstrated capability to drive revenue growth and successfully expand property portfolios.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for relationship building.
- Ambitious with a growth-oriented attitude, capable in problem solving and negotiation.
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in industry-specific software and general business computing.
