Role overview
The Regional Field Safety Manager partners with the Field Safety Director and Vice President of Safety to roll out and oversee health, safety, and environmental programs across an assigned region of Camping World dealerships and RV service centers. The role is focused on strengthening the company’s “True North” safety culture, meeting regulatory obligations, reducing operational risk, and ensuring corrective actions are completed promptly through field engagement, coaching, inspections, training, and incident follow-up.
Reporting structure and location
This position reports to the Field Safety Director. The region covered is South / Southeast. The role is remote, but the employee will be assigned an office location inside a Camping World facility within the designated region.
Travel expectations
This job requires about 50% overnight travel. Travel may be by vehicle or commercial flight, and short-notice travel may be necessary for serious incidents or urgent field support.
Core responsibilities
- Roll out and maintain regional safety programs, standards, and initiatives so they are applied consistently across dealerships and service centers.
- Coach local leaders and team members on safe work habits, hazard awareness, accountability, and the company’s “True North” safety mindset.
- Work with regional and site leadership to align safety expectations with day-to-day operational priorities.
- Carry out site visits, workplace observations, inspections, and follow-ups on corrective actions to confirm compliance and support continuous improvement.
- Help ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, DOT, fire code, and internal safety requirements across service, retail, parts, delivery, and lot operations.
- Reinforce critical controls for RV roof work, fall protection, forklift use, lockout/tagout, battery charging, chemical handling, and hot work.
- Support incident response, investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective action planning, and communication of meaningful trends.
- Coordinate with Human Resources, Risk Management, claims partners, and operations leaders on workers’ compensation follow-up, return-to-work planning, and injury prevention.
- Deliver and reinforce safety training for field leaders and team members, including support for new acquisitions, new leaders, and locations needing extra safety assistance.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Risk Management, or a related discipline is preferred; comparable experience may be accepted.
- At least five years of progressive safety experience is required, including support across multiple sites, inspections, incident investigations, corrective action management, and safety coaching.
- Experience in RV, automotive, equipment rental, construction, industrial, logistics, or similar multi-site field operations is preferred.
- Professional credentials such as ASP, CSP, CHST, OHST, or another relevant safety certification are preferred.
- Strong communication and influence skills are needed to build relationships, coach effectively, and drive safety commitments through field and operations leaders.
- Applicants must be able to travel up to 50% and respond to field needs on short notice when required.
Compensation and benefits
The estimated annual pay range for this position is $105,800 to $162,200. Pay is determined by factors such as skills, experience, training, licenses, certifications, and broader business needs.
