Regional Director of Operations

The Regional Director of Operations plays a critical leadership role overseeing the operations of multiple practices within a designated region. This position is accountable for driving operational success and managing profitability (P&L) across these locations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Possess in-depth understanding of the orthodontic sector and practice operations.
• Partner with practice leadership to drive revenue growth initiatives, manage costs, and roll out operational strategies.
• Engage actively in budgeting and introduce practice enhancements.
• Supervise local practice administrators and key personnel, supporting their goals and facilitating annual budget achievement fostering growth and sustainability.
• Utilize a data-driven mindset applying KPIs to identify drivers of success, collaborating with the VP of Operations to implement performance improvements.
• Act as liaison between VP of Operations and practices ensuring organizational support across functional areas.
• Lead stakeholder meetings regionally, focusing primarily on partner Doctors.
• Uphold top standards for patient care and compliance; generate and analyze quality metrics.
• Travel frequently (around 50% of workweek) to locations for onsite leadership, feedback, and guidance.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring abilities to guide team members even without direct reporting lines.
• Drive positive regional culture and manage team morale effectively.
• Partner with Human Resources on employee relations and team engagement.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, HR, finance, and business intelligence teams.
• Collect and present actionable business metrics to leadership.
• Support facility updates to enhance operational workflows and patient experience.
• Additional duties as assigned, recognizing job requirements may evolve.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years’ experience leading people, including providing feedback, coaching, and setting goals.
• Minimum 7 years relevant professional experience.
• Flexibility in schedule and valid driver’s license required.
• Preferred dental or orthodontic industry experience (3-5 years) and familiarity with orthodontic practice management software.
• Strong financial literacy with P&L ownership and budget management expertise.
• Skilled in written, verbal, and electronic communication maintaining professionalism.
• Effective relationship-building with doctors, teams, and stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Independent decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
• Maintain confidentiality and proactive accountability across functions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Agile in adapting to shifting priorities.
