Job description

Role Overview

Sedge Bioceuticals India Pvt. Ltd. is expanding its cosmetology field sales operations into Bihar and Jharkhand, and this opening is for a Regional Business Manager focused on dermatology and cosmetology. The role is designed for a leader who can establish a new market, grow business from the ground up, and shape a high-performing field team.

The company works in science-led dermatology and cosmetology solutions, backed by in-house manufacturing and more than 10 years of operations. This position is intended for someone who can combine commercial ownership with team development, market building, and strong execution discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver regional targets across primary sales, secondary sales, collections, and product-wise business performance.
  • Create and implement business plans for the assigned region to drive market establishment and growth.
  • Track market movement and take timely corrective action to keep business on course.
  • Hire, guide, and retain strong sales talent for the region.
  • Develop Area Business Managers into capable coaches and business leaders.
  • Build a culture centered on accountability, execution, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure new joiners are inducted properly and that team capability is built continuously.
  • Increase prescription generation and repeat business through scientific selling practices.
  • Broaden market reach and identify new growth pockets within the territory.
  • Build strong working relationships with dermatologists, cosmetologists, key opinion leaders, and trade partners.
  • Execute territory development plans effectively.
  • Oversee CRM activities and ensure they are planned and monitored well.
  • Maximise return on investment from CRM efforts.
  • Strengthen brand value through structured customer engagement and relationship building.
  • Monitor stockist inventory and ensure products remain available.
  • Maintain proper stock rotation, collection discipline, and credit control.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and commercial discipline across the region.
  • Convert corporate strategy into clear field execution.
  • Ensure marketing initiatives are implemented with quality and consistency.
  • Drive business performance through reviews, coaching, and regular monitoring.

Candidate Profile

This is a leadership-oriented expansion role for professionals with strong pharmaceutical sales experience and a record of building teams and territories. The position is suitable for candidates who are comfortable with extensive travel within the assigned region and who can work independently while managing business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Graduate in Science or Pharmacy; an MBA will be considered an advantage.
  • 6 to 10 years of successful pharmaceutical sales experience.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience as a Regional Business Manager or Second Line Manager, preferably in dermatology or cosmetology.
  • Consistent achievement of sales and collection targets.
  • Proven ability in leadership, coaching, and business planning.
  • Experience in recruitment, team development, and market expansion.
  • Strong communication, analytical thinking, and strategic decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned territory.

What Makes This Role Distinct

  • This is a founding leadership opportunity rather than a standard regional management role.
  • The expectation is to build leaders, not just supervise staff.
  • The role requires market creation, not only territory tracking.
  • It calls for opportunity generation, not just reaction to competition.
  • Success means driving business, not simply hitting targets.
  • The leader is expected to encourage ownership, not merely compliance.

Success Measures

  • Long-term business growth.
  • Achievement of primary and secondary sales targets.
  • Growth in product-wise business.
  • Strong collection performance.
  • Improved team capability.
  • Effective recruitment and retention.
  • Market expansion.
  • CRM effectiveness and ROI.
  • Overall leadership quality.

Perks and Benefits

  • Competitive fixed pay.
  • Performance-linked incentives.
  • Travel allowance and daily allowance.
  • Leadership development programmes.
  • Fast-track career progression.
  • Opportunity to lead new territories with meaningful autonomy.
