Role Overview
Located in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, this full-time position involves on-site work as a Refrigeration Technician. The technician is responsible for the installation, servicing, and repair of commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC systems to ensure their safe and efficient operation. Key daily tasks include conducting regular inspections, preventative maintenance, problem diagnostics, troubleshooting, and replacing or repairing defective parts. The role also requires meticulous record-keeping of completed tasks, strict adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines, and effective communication with supervisors, coworkers, and clients regarding system conditions and recommendations. The technician may also contribute to system upgrades, provide on-call assistance, and coordinate with other trades to meet project timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in preventive maintenance and repair of refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Strong troubleshooting ability for mechanical and system performance issues.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, including safety practices and basic electrical diagnostics.
- Experience with HVAC tasks such as installation, servicing, and equipment adjustments.
- Completion of a trade certification or apprenticeship in refrigeration, HVAC, or a related field.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and proper refrigerant handling techniques.
- Capacity to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders accurately and thoroughly.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and capability to perform on-site work in varied conditions.
- Previous experience in commercial or industrial refrigeration is advantageous.
