Role Overview
Talize is hiring a dependable, safety-minded Recycler to support backroom and donation-processing operations in Langley, British Columbia. In this active, fast-moving role, you will help manage donated merchandise efficiently, keep processing areas orderly and safe, and support the movement of items to the sales floor while reducing waste and contributing to recycling efforts.
This position requires open availability, including weekends, holidays, and closing shifts. The pay rate is $18.60 per hour.
What You Will Do
- Receive, unload, sort, and organize donated items into the correct containers or bins.
- Weigh, tag, and log incoming merchandise while maintaining proper bin date order.
- Track donation bins and move items for processing when needed.
- Restock sub-department inventory and reposition bins that have been redirected.
- Dispose of unsellable or damaged goods in line with company procedures.
- Assist with baling, compacting, recycling, and back-stock organization.
- Help prepare for sale days and carry out general operational support tasks.
- Keep the processing and donation areas clean, orderly, and free from hazards.
- Use balers, compactors, and forklifts safely when certified and required.
- Follow safe lifting practices, wear the required protective equipment, and report hazards right away.
- Complete basic administrative tracking, including weight records and inventory data.

Requirements
- At least 1 year of warehouse experience.
- Strong attention to safety and compliance requirements.
- Ability to work efficiently and keep operations moving smoothly.
- Mechanical and technical aptitude for handling processing equipment and related tasks.
- Experience using a forklift, baler, or garbage compactor is an advantage.
- Background in a thrift retail environment is an added plus.
- Valid Class G driver’s licence with 3 years of experience driving delivery vans is a plus.
- Availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and move throughout the shift.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and push or pull rolling containers up to 500 lbs.
- Comfort working around dust, dirt, insects, garbage, and occasional rodents.
- Willingness to work in a noisy environment with changing temperatures.
- Regular interaction with customers and the public.
