About the Role
New Horizons is seeking an energetic Recruitment Specialist who enjoys working with people and is motivated by connecting strong talent with meaningful community impact. This is a hands-on, fast-moving position for someone who can manage recruiting end to end and help strengthen the organization’s hiring efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle the complete recruitment process, from identifying candidates through to onboarding.
- Find, review, and assess qualified applicants proactively.
- Develop and nurture strong candidate pools for current and future hiring needs.
- Work closely with hiring managers to clarify staffing priorities and role expectations.
- Write compelling job advertisements and support recruitment outreach efforts.
- Deliver a respectful, welcoming, and inclusive experience for every candidate.
- Maintain recruiting records carefully and monitor hiring metrics.
Requirements
Applicants should be able to carry out the essential duties of the position effectively. The role calls for strong recruiting knowledge, good coordination skills, and comfort working in a collaborative environment. Reasonable accommodations may be available to support individuals with disabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to source and screen candidates; prior nonprofit hiring experience is an added advantage.
- Strong familiarity with ATS platforms, online recruiting tools, social media sourcing, and job boards.
- Comfort working with hiring managers through intake discussions, alignment on staffing needs, and ongoing coordination.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and available to work on-site.
- Willingness to attend occasional job fairs and community events.
- Background in nonprofit services, social services, healthcare, or disability services is preferred.
