Role Overview
New Horizons, a nonprofit that has supported adults with special needs across the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Thousand Oaks, and Ventura for over 60 years, is hiring a dependable self-starter for the Job Coach position.
This is a meaningful part-time opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others and wants to contribute in a hands-on, positive way. Prior experience is not required, as the organization is open to training the right person.
The schedule is flexible and may range from 25 to 40 hours per week, with weekends possibly included. The hourly pay is $22.75 to $23.25.
What You’ll Do
- Introduce each member to the work environment and help them settle in.
- Create a day-by-day work plan covering all tasks that need to be finished during the shift.
- Coach members through their job duties so they can meet the employer’s expectations.
- Teach appropriate conduct, work habits, and professional attitudes in the workplace.
- Support members in building positive connections with coworkers.
Candidate Profile
- English fluency is required.
- A high school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
- Background in working with special needs or developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have held a driver’s license for 3 or more years.
- Willingness to drive an 8-passenger van is necessary.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- No prior experience is necessary; training will be provided.
