Overview
We are hiring an ambitious Industrial Recruitment Consultant to join the Chester team. The role blends modern recruitment technology with strong relationship-led selling, giving you support from a central Talent Acquisition function so you can focus on winning new business, strengthening client partnerships, and driving revenue.
This position suits someone who is comfortable on the phone, happy to meet clients in person, and motivated by turning opportunities into successful placements.
Compensation and working pattern
- Base pay of £26,000 to £29,000 depending on experience
- Uncapped commission with strong earning potential
- Monday to Friday schedule, 8:00am to 5:30pm
- Every second Friday off
- 19 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with service, plus your birthday off

Key responsibilities
- Manage an established industrial recruitment desk and work to increase revenue and market share
- Bring in new business through outbound calls, client meetings, and networking
- Develop long-term relationships with both existing clients and prospects
- Provide a consultative recruitment service by understanding client needs and recommending suitable solutions
- Handle high-volume industrial recruitment assignments from vacancy brief through to placement
- Partner with the in-house Talent Acquisition team to fill roles quickly and effectively
- Use recruitment platforms and AI-based tools to improve efficiency and candidate engagement
- Monitor market movement and spot opportunities to expand the desk
What we are looking for
- Experience working in industrial recruitment
- A confident, resilient, and proactive salesperson who enjoys outbound calling and creating opportunities
- Comfort with client visits and face-to-face relationship building
- A strong history of securing new business and expanding existing accounts
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Commercial awareness along with strong organisation and time management skills
- Confidence using CRM platforms and recruitment technology
- A full UK driving licence
- A self-starter with energy, ideas, and a personality that fits a fast-evolving environment
