Job description
Role overview
NHS Golden Jubilee is looking for a Recruitment Assistant to join its HR team in Clydebank. This position suits someone who is organised, proactive, and keen to build a career in recruitment and human resources. The role focuses on delivering a high-quality recruitment service that supports a varied and expanding workforce.
You will play an important part in the full recruitment cycle, helping to make sure candidates and hiring managers experience a smooth, efficient, and professional process. The work includes vacancy preparation, interview coordination, contract administration, and the tracking of pre-employment checks, all carried out in line with NHS Scotland policies and procedures.
The post is busy and varied, so strong administration, accuracy, and the ability to prioritise competing tasks are essential. You will work with colleagues across HR and the wider organisation, provide timely updates, keep records up to date, and deliver a consistently strong level of customer service. The role follows a hybrid working arrangement, combining office-based and remote work.
Key duties
- Prepare recruitment packs and place adverts for open vacancies.
- Assist hiring managers with shortlisting and interview scheduling.
- Draft and issue employment contracts.
- Track and manage pre-employment screening, including reference checks and PVG checks.
- Keep HR records accurate and produce reports through HR systems.
- Respond promptly and professionally to candidates, managers, and staff.
What the organisation is seeking
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in recruitment or HR administration. Confidence using systems such as Jobtrain, eESS, and Docman is important. You should communicate clearly, handle sensitive information with care, and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a supportive team.
An understanding of NHS Scotland recruitment processes, policies, and terms and conditions would be beneficial, though it is not essential.

NHS Golden Jubilee is a collaborative and motivated HR environment where your work will directly support the recruitment and onboarding of staff across the organisation. Flexible working arrangements may be considered for this post.

The organisation is committed to inclusive and accessible recruitment. Candidates with disabilities or long-term health conditions covered by the Equality Act 2010 can request support at any stage of the process; further details are available in the job pack.
NHS Golden Jubilee welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds and promotes inclusion across the workforce.
