Job description
About the Company
Applied ABC is dedicated to supporting children with autism and developmental differences so they can reach their full potential through evidence-based ABA therapy. As the organization expands its clinical presence across several states, it is looking for a motivated BCBA Recruiter & Talent Acquisition Specialist to join the California team.
This position is designed for someone who understands the BCBA hiring market and can consistently identify, engage, and close strong clinical talent.
Role Overview
In this role, you will manage BCBA hiring across multiple states from first outreach through offer completion and onboarding transition. You will be responsible for building candidate pipelines, reaching passive talent, using a broad mix of sourcing channels, and helping the company secure the clinical professionals needed for growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Run the full recruitment process for BCBA openings across several states, including sourcing, screening, offer discussions, and onboarding handoff.
- Create and maintain a proactive pipeline of BCBA candidates so prospects are already engaged before roles open.
- Work closely with clinical leaders, directors, and center managers to understand staffing needs, culture fit, and compensation expectations.
- Use multi-channel sourcing methods across LinkedIn Recruiter, the BACB Certificant Registry, ABA-focused job boards, and professional associations such as ABAI, FABA, and regional groups.
- Apply advanced Boolean search techniques, InMail outreach, and talent insights to find and connect with strong BCBA candidates at scale.
- Source through community channels such as Facebook groups, Reddit ABA communities, Discord servers, and regional networking events and conferences.
- Build long-term relationships with BCBA graduate programs, internship supervisors, and university career offices to support early-career hiring pipelines.
- Keep candidate records organized and current in ATS and CRM tools, with consistent follow-up and requisition management.
- Represent Applied ABC at ABA conferences, professional events, and university career fairs to strengthen visibility and attract candidates.
- Track recruiting performance metrics such as time-to-fill, offer acceptance rate, source-of-hire, and pipeline conversion.
- Share market intelligence and hiring insights with executive leadership to support workforce planning.
- Improve recruiting workflows, candidate experience, and employer branding initiatives.
- Negotiate competitive compensation packages across multiple states, considering licensure demands, caseload complexity, and specialty populations.
- Stay up to date on BCBA licensure rules, salary trends, and hiring patterns in active markets.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least 2 years of specialized BCBA recruitment experience with a proven ability to fill both high-volume and difficult-to-fill positions in competitive markets.
- Experience recruiting across multiple states, with exposure to two or more of the following markets: FL, TX, NY, NJ, MA, CA, HI, or similar regions.
- Strong hands-on experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, BACB Certificant Registry, and ABA-specific job boards.
- Solid understanding of BCBA certification, supervision expectations, and clinical career growth.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and candidate relationship management abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree in HR, Psychology, or a related discipline is an advantage.
- Existing professional connections within ABAI, FABA, or state-level ABA associations are preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a strong plus.
Benefits and Perks
- 401(k) plan with employer match.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- Generous paid time off and paid holidays.
- Opportunities for professional growth and advancement within a fast-growing organization.
Work Location and Schedule
This is an on-site position based in California. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, with some flexibility expected. The role supports multi-state BCBA recruiting.
Equal Opportunity Statement
