Role Overview
The Records Management Specialist will provide expert technical leadership in organising institutional records, including classification, indexing, inventory management, retention planning, and preparing records for digitisation. This position ensures records are correctly identified, sorted, coded, labeled, registered, securely managed, and arranged according to established records management standards, institutional policies, confidentiality protocols, and audit preparedness.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer comprehensive technical guidance for records organisation and preparing records for digitisation.
- Evaluate current filing systems by analyzing record-keeping practices, storage conditions, retrieval difficulties, classification deficiencies, and risk factors in records management.
- Oversee the consolidation, sorting, classification, indexing, coding, labeling, and systematisation of physical records.
Qualifications and Skills
- Master's degree in Records and Archives Management, Information Management, Library and Information Science, Knowledge Management, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Records and Archives Management, Library and Information Science, Information Management, Information Systems, or a similar discipline.
- Additional professional qualifications in records management, archives administration, knowledge management, information governance, document control, electronic records management, or digitisation are advantageous.
