Key daily activities include sculpting and grooming hair with 3D software, building hair systems optimized for game engines, and collaborating intensely with character artists, technical artists, and animators to ensure visual fidelity and performance standards. The position requires responding to feedback, enhancing hair shading and physics, and resolving technical challenges related to hair rendering and simulations within a fully remote team environment.
Required Qualifications

- Strong skills in 3D content creation tools such as Maya, Blender, ZBrush, or equivalent software for character and hair asset development.
- Experience with real-time engines like Unreal Engine or Unity, including knowledge of hair shaders, levels of detail (LODs), and optimization for real-time rendering performance.
- In-depth understanding of physically based rendering (PBR) workflows, texturing, and material setup using tools such as Substance 3D or Photoshop.
- Ability to cooperate effectively with technical artists and animators, with foundational knowledge in rigging, skinning, and hair-related physics or simulation techniques.
- Keen attention to detail and a strong artistic sense, ensuring consistent implementation of art direction across assets.
- Excellent communication capabilities, reliability in remote work settings, and openness to iterative feedback processes.
- Demonstrated professional background in gaming, visual effects, or cinematic production environments with a portfolio evidencing real-time hair artistry.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Unreal Engine 5 tools, grooming plugins, proprietary hair systems, and familiarity with version control and collaborative workflows.
