Job description
Role overview
Hanley Castle High School is hiring a Ready to Learn Room Manager to take the lead in maintaining excellent behaviour-for-learning standards. The postholder will oversee the Ready to Learn Room, a space where students can reflect and reset after being removed from class for not meeting the school’s high expectations of conduct.
The successful applicant will help maintain a calm, constructive, well-ordered setting that supports students in returning to appropriate learning behaviour.
Working pattern
This is a 37-hour-per-week position, with working hours from Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, and Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm. A 30-minute unpaid lunch break is included. The role is term-time only, plus 8 Professional Development Days.
Ideal candidate profile
The school is looking for someone with a background in behaviour support, either in education or a comparable environment. Experience handling situations that require de-escalation is important, and a strong track record of engaging and motivating young people is essential.
