Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Ready-Mix Concrete Truck Driver to join our Bristol, VA team. The primary duty involves operating a concrete mixer truck safely while delivering concrete to various residential and commercial construction sites. This position includes navigating diverse terrain and managing equipment handling such as extension chutes weighing 30-50 pounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a safe workspace.
• Deliver concrete loads punctually and safeguard their condition during transport.
• Adjust concrete discharge techniques to suit the specific conditions of each worksite.
• Attach and handle extension chutes as needed for precise concrete pouring.
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical integrity of the mixer truck.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional representation of Cemex.
• Collaborate effectively with dispatchers and crew members to optimize operations.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A or B) is mandatory.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Must be clear of FMCSA prohibitions related to drug and alcohol use.
• Proficient in English for effective communication, including reading and writing skills.
• Acceptable driving history with no DUIs/DWIs within 5 years and no more than three moving violations in the past three years.
• Good understanding of safety procedures applicable to construction and transportation settings.
• Desirable knowledge of local traffic routes and basic vehicle maintenance skills.

Working Conditions

• Strict adherence to safety protocols including the use of required protective equipment.
• Work takes place in various conditions, including outdoor industrial locations.
• Physical demands include frequent walking, sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, and climbing activities.
