Job description

Role Overview

A leading global medical device company is recruiting an R&D Analyst to support its Research and Development team. This contract position is aimed at specialists focused on developing, verifying, and validating analytical laboratory test methods for a new Class III combination medical product. Prior experience in GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) environments is mandatory to comply with laboratory and quality standards.

Key Duties

  • Develop, verify, and validate analytical test protocols specifically for injectable products, hydrogels, polymers, and related substances.
  • Utilize and troubleshoot HPLC, Dissolution, GPC, and other analytical testing methods and associated equipment.
  • Design and implement analytical tests such as Karl Fisher titration, NMR spectroscopy, GC (Gas Chromatography), and DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry).
  • Ensure all processes align with USP and ICH regulatory guidelines for analytical methodologies.
  • Apply thorough understanding of polymer and injection material testing in an R&D lab context.

Qualifications and Experience

  • More than five years of dedicated experience in analytical lab test method development, including verification and validation phases.
  • Substantial experience working within GLP-regulated environments.
  • Proficient in analytical method development for hydrogel, polymers, and injectable materials.
  • Hands-on expertise with HPLC, Dissolution, GPC techniques, including troubleshooting technical problems.
  • Knowledge in advanced analytical techniques like Karl Fisher, NMR, GC, and DSC.
  • Strong familiarity with USP, ICH guidelines pertaining to analytical testing.

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Experience or knowledge in rheology is advantageous.

Contract Details and Working Conditions

  • Start date flexible between ASAP and 1st October, contingent on candidate availability.
  • Initial contract term of 12 months, with potential extension based on project needs.
  • Work location is Limerick, Ireland, with a requirement to be onsite five days a week.
  • Remote work opportunities are offered intermittently, dependent on project milestones.
  • Compensation ranges from €35 to €43 per hour, variable according to experience. Expense claims may be considered for inclusion in the hourly rate.
