Job description

Role overview

Intertek Italia, a global leader in Assurance, Testing, Inspection, and Certification services, is hiring RBI Practitioners for upcoming assignments linked to the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) stage of multiple energy projects in Germany.

The selected professional will work closely with corrosion and inspection specialists to carry out the practical tasks needed to develop, fill, and verify RBI models, inspection plans, and integrity data systems. The position plays a key part in making sure EPC outputs are complete, technically sound, and fully aligned with the approved RBI approach and client expectations.

What you will do

  • Complete RBI templates, data sheets, and risk models using API/DNV-based methods and project-specific instructions.
  • Review, interpret, and check engineering information from native CAD sources such as PFDs, P&IDs, UFDs, isometrics, and equipment datasheets.
  • Trace and annotate corrosion loops, circuits, CMLs, and inspection locations directly on drawings and digital models.
  • Help assign degradation mechanisms by analyzing process conditions, material selection, and operating limits.
  • Contribute to inspection strategy development, including PoF/CoF inputs and risk-ranking outputs, under senior guidance.
  • Carry out data extraction and cleansing from EPC deliverables, vendor documentation, and operational records.
  • Load, organize, and verify integrity data in RBI/IDMS tools such as Antea, Meridium/APM, Synergi, Credo, Aware, and similar systems.
  • Support the creation of RBI reports, inspection plans, and technical documents for EPC review cycles.
  • Make sure all RBI activities follow client standards, international codes, and project requirements.
  • Work with corrosion, mechanical, and inspection teams to close data gaps and keep deliverables consistent.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering, or a similar technical field is preferred; however, candidates without a degree may qualify with at least 5 years of proven RBI practitioner experience.
  • Hands-on experience delivering RBI studies in EPC and/or operating environments.
  • At least 3 years of combined EPC and operational experience is required; 5 or more years is preferred.
  • Practical exposure to RBI/IDMS platforms is necessary, including tools such as Antea, Meridium/APM, DNV Synergi, Credo, or Intertek Aware.
  • API 580 certification is expected, or alternatively a minimum of 5 years of proven RBI assessment experience.
  • API 581 training will be considered an advantage.
  • AMPP/NACE certifications related to corrosion or CP are a plus, though not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of API 571 is preferred for identifying degradation mechanisms.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, including PFDs, P&IDs, UFDs, and isometrics.
  • Capability to gather, verify, and structure technical data for RBI models and IDMS platforms.
  • Understanding of degradation mechanisms, corrosion loops, CML planning, and inspection strategy principles.
  • Familiarity with CMMS hierarchies such as SAP, Maximo, or equivalent systems is an added benefit.
