About the Role
The City is looking for a proactive Rates Officer to join its Financial Services Branch on a 12-month contract. Reporting to the Coordinator Rates, the position plays a key part in the administration of rates, including the levy and collection process, along with upkeep of the property records database and rates valuation register.
What You Will Be Doing
- Supporting the calculation, issue and collection of council rates
- Maintaining accurate property information and the rates valuation register
- Working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Managing competing tasks and deadlines in a busy environment
- Using sound judgement, initiative and teamwork to contribute to the financial services function

Employment Details
This is a full-time contract role for up to 12 months, based onsite in Gosnells. The standard working arrangement is 76 hours per fortnight, with an option to work a nine-day fortnight.
Salary and Benefits
The advertised salary range is $82,892 to $88,095 per annum plus superannuation, effective 12 July 2026. In addition to pay, the role includes five weeks of annual leave, free onsite parking, electric vehicle charging facilities at the Civic Centre, and generous superannuation contributions of up to 17% where conditions apply. Employees also have access to a health and wellness program covering annual skin checks, flu vaccinations, biennial health assessments and seasonal wellness sessions, as well as a corporate discount with a health fund. The workplace is conveniently located with easy access to Roe, Tonkin and Albany Highways.
Requirements
- A current National Police Clearance issued within the last three months will be required at a later stage as an appointment condition, although it is not needed when submitting an application
