Role Overview

This remote Radiology Scheduler position requires delivering compassionate, precise, and timely scheduling assistance for radiology appointments involving multiple imaging techniques. Serving as a primary contact within a high-volume contact center, the position demands strong critical thinking, efficiency, and meticulous handling of complex patient interactions under healthcare protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Manage intricate patient communications necessitating independent judgment, prioritization, and adherence to escalation processes.
  • Schedule, confirm, cancel, and reschedule radiology appointments across modalities such as Mammography/Breast Imaging, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, DEXA, Fluoroscopy, and related services.
  • Document all patient interactions and updates accurately in CRM and scheduling systems concurrently.
  • Provide patients with accurate information regarding imaging procedures, preparation, provider orders, and broader radiology queries.
  • Uphold professionalism, empathy, and accuracy during interactions involving sensitive medical and insurance details.
  • Verify and document insurance according to established standards and client protocols.
  • Review imaging orders for appropriateness and coordinate with providers and clinical partners as required.
  • Conduct outbound calls to manage scheduling, follow-ups, and appointment resolution.
  • Adhere strictly to HIPAA, confidentiality requirements, call center metrics, and organizational policies.
  • Engage in ongoing coaching, quality assurance reviews, and performance enhancement activities.
  • Adapt to support diverse clients, departments, or workflows as per business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • At least six months of remote work experience in customer service, scheduling, healthcare, or call center environments is required.
  • Familiarity with adherence to contact center metrics including quality, attendance, and service levels.
  • Typing speed of 35–40 words per minute.
  • Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Ability to navigate and learn multiple systems simultaneously such as CRM, scheduling, and client-specific platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, multitasking capability, organizational and communication competencies.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures is advantageous.
  • Willingness to accept feedback and adjust to change.
  • Flexibility to work assigned shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this role is $16.00.
