Key Duties
- Handle end-to-end patient scheduling by reviewing medical history, insurance details, authorizations, and exam preparation requirements.
- Respond to patient phone calls promptly and professionally to arrange imaging appointments.
- Work closely with imaging center teams and radiologists to coordinate appointment logistics.
- Explain medication restrictions and any required laboratory protocols to patients.
- Take part in efforts to improve quality and performance across scheduling operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience in a centralized scheduling call center, or 2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare environment.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service abilities.
- Comfortable using computers, software, and efficient keyboarding techniques.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities, pay close attention to detail, and work proactively.
Preferred Background
- Exposure to an electronic practice management system.
- Experience handling multi-line phone systems or ACD phones.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
