Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Overview

ConsultANZ is recruiting experienced Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors to join a prominent civil contractor involved in major infrastructure projects in Wellington, New Zealand. You will report directly to the Commercial Manager and have a crucial role in overseeing project costs, ensuring commercial compliance, managing contracts, and delivering accurate financial reporting.

Primary Duties

• Handle project cost estimation, budget management, and commercial reporting accurately.
• Oversee contract administration including claims, invoice processing, payments, and variations.
• Keep track of project expenditures, financial health, and identify potential commercial risks.
• Generate precise cost forecasts, progress reports, and comprehensive financial updates.
• Administer subcontractor contracts, their payments, and maintain detailed financial records.
• Support overall project controls, cost management strategies, and commercial planning initiatives.
• Maintain thorough project documentation alongside commercial records, with a specific focus on Candy cost management software for Senior Quantity Surveyors.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to meet project goals.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Commercial Management, or equivalent.
• Demonstrable experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor on civil or infrastructure-related projects.
• Sound understanding of contract management and cost control practices.
• Proficient in cost forecasting and preparing commercial reports.
• Familiarity with Candy software is highly preferred for the Senior Quantity Surveyor position.
• Knowledge of New Zealand standards such as NZS 3910, JDE, and TOC contracts is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and organizational capabilities.
