Job description

About the company

Ice Interiors has been delivering commercial interior fit-outs since 2013 and has developed a strong reputation for quality work across office, retail, and specialist spaces such as medical and dental facilities. The business is known for its practical delivery style, good client relationships, and ongoing repeat projects across the Bay of Plenty and Waikato.

Role overview

This is a specialist estimating role focused on commercial interiors, rather than a broad quantity surveying position. You will take ownership of jobs from the first measurement stage through to final account, working closely with project teams. The position suits someone who understands interior systems in depth and can independently price work with accuracy.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out full take-offs from drawing sets
  • Prepare bills of quantities from the ground up
  • Compile and lodge competitive tenders
  • Track variations, changes, and claims through the job lifecycle
  • Lead projects through to final account completion

What the employer is looking for

  • Solid, proven background in commercial interiors estimating
  • Demonstrated ability to complete full take-offs and build BOQs without supervision
  • Experience pricing work for main contractors
  • Confidence handling variations, claims, and financial results
  • Comfort working end to end with limited oversight

Technical background

You should have strong pricing experience across GIB/plasterboard, steel stud framing, ceiling systems such as Rondo and grid-and-tile, aluminium partitions, linings including Seratone and Weatherline, passive fire systems, acoustic systems such as Autex and dB-Sorb, Korok systems, insulation, and other interior finishing systems.

Additional details

The role is based in Waikato or Bay of Plenty, supporting projects across both regions. A flexible work-from-home arrangement is available initially for Bay of Plenty candidates. This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who wants real ownership and the chance to make an impact.

Not suitable for

  • Candidates from civil construction
  • Applicants with only residential experience
  • Main contractor professionals without independent pricing responsibility
  • Quantity surveyors focused only on cost reporting
  • People who rely mainly on subcontractor pricing instead of self-measuring and pricing interior systems
