Job description
Role Overview
The Quality Specialist is responsible for inspecting incoming, in-process, and final products within the allocated area to meet quality objectives, daily production targets, and cycle time goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of products at various production stages to confirm compliance with specifications.
- Make accurate product evaluations and report findings promptly.
- Oversee and expedite all production batches to ensure minimal cycle times.
- Adhere to Out of Control Action Plan (OCAP) and escalation protocols as required.
- Maintain workplace organization, safety, and discipline.
- Ensure effective communication and proper handover across shifts.
- Engage in cross-functional improvement initiatives.
- Support inventory count procedures when necessary.
- Provide training and assistance across different Quality Assurance areas as needed.
Technical Competencies
- Ability to interpret specifications and quality sampling plans.
- Proficient with software tools, especially MS Excel and Word.
Analytical and Soft Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Capable of identifying and resolving problems efficiently.
- Excellent organizational skills and effective time management.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Positive, proactive mindset with initiative-taking capability.

Additional Requirements and Qualifications
- Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
- Experienced in independent multitasking and performing well under pressure.
- Proficient with email communication.
- Experience with SAP and understanding of Toyota Production System (TPS) and Lean Manufacturing principles is advantageous.
- Background in Solar, Semiconductor, or Electronics manufacturing industries is a plus.
- Multilingual skills beyond English are beneficial.
- No color blindness and must be physically fit.
- Educational qualifications: NITEC or equivalent; for senior roles, a minimum "O" level or "SPM" with at least 3 years' relevant experience is expected.
