Job description

About Expeditors

Expeditors specializes in global supply chain management, emphasizing professionalism, leadership, and a supportive environment that encourages innovation and customer-oriented logistics. With over 19,000 trained professionals across more than 350 worldwide locations and recognition as a Fortune 500 company, Expeditors operates on globally unified systems.

Job Overview

As the new Quality Management System (QMS) reaches worldwide deployment, we require a highly autonomous Quality Data Analyst to spearhead system stabilization and data extraction efforts globally. Early-stage systems often face complexity and instability; thus, we seek a determined data expert capable of navigating limited documentation, gathering fragmented data, and building predictive data pipelines from scratch. This role serves as the critical link between real-time warehouse errors and engineering risk documentation, specifically Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA). The candidate will standardize data to ensure a coherent narrative, circumvent delays inherent in traditional Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes, and set strict parameters for updating risk assessments, ultimately converting operational noise into actionable improvements while preventing administrative complications.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Stabilize and investigate the newly launched QMS tool by extracting, conditioning, and managing quality data through initial system fluctuations and backend API challenges to develop reliable data pipelines.
  • Conduct audits and standardize core data streams in collaboration with Insights teams, ensuring data accuracy, user accessibility, and alignment with business KPIs to present a unified operational narrative.
  • Lead creation and implementation of PFMEA documentation by establishing foundational risk matrices and training cross-functional teams to use these as central operational guides.
  • Define and enforce firm rules for dynamic PFMEA threshold management to prevent frequent oscillations caused by temporary spikes in shipping errors.
  • Design proactive predictive analytics systems using raw Issue Management data to detect immediate trends, bypassing the typical delays of Root Cause and Corrective Action loops.
  • Translate intricate quality data into clear mitigation strategies and collaborate with Operations teams to deliver accountability and drive process enhancements without direct warehouse floor management.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

  • Demonstrates a self-sufficient approach in ambiguous, early-stage environments with limited documentation, adept at navigating backend tables and collaborating with Insights teams for data routing improvements.
  • Exhibits strategic synthesis by linking data trends back to PFMEA, effectively educating others on the practical application of data to processes.
  • Displays resilience in tackling the demanding initial phase of launching global systems, viewing data cleaning and dashboard creation as engaging challenges.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills to influence cross-functional operational teams, advocating mitigation plans and ensuring execution where direct authority is absent.
  • Brings 3 to 5 years experience in data analytics, quality assurance, or process engineering, particularly within global supply chains or warehouse operations.
  • Has an in-depth understanding of Quality Management Systems, RCCA methodologies, and risk documentation, with Six Sigma Black Belt or substantial PFMEA experience preferred.
  • Skilled in constructing operational dashboards, harmonizing diverse data streams, and utilizing predictive analytics to flag quality trends for leadership decision-making.
  • Experienced in navigating enterprise software rollouts, data extraction from backend repositories, and partnering with developers or insights teams to create dependable data pipelines.
  • Knowledgeable about supply chain logistics, procurement dependencies, third-party logistics, and warehouse operational procedures.
  • Proficient in Google Sheets (including advanced functions like VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and Microsoft Excel; adept at leveraging AI tools and automation workflows to streamline data processes and reduce manual efforts.
  • Experienced in mastering complex proprietary operational databases and issue tracking or bug reporting systems.

Additional Information

  • Benefits include paid vacation, holidays, sick leave, comprehensive medical plans, life insurance, employee stock purchase plans, training and development programs, growth opportunities within the company, and an employee referral bonus program.
