Position Overview

Join Kepler as a Quality Assurance Specialist in the Manufacturing/Production department, responsible for overseeing quality management throughout the satellite subsystem lifecycle. This role focuses on advancing production efficiency, managing quality inspections and non-conformances, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain quality management systems ensuring adherence to industry standards and internal procedures during satellite subsystem development.
  • Perform incoming inspections, isolate defective parts, and collaborate with engineering and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Lead root cause investigations of non-conformances and apply corrective and preventative measures.
  • Continuously identify and drive improvements in manufacturing and assembly processes to boost quality and efficiency.
  • Create and enforce inspection and testing protocols for components, sub-assemblies, and final satellite systems.
  • Anticipate potential quality and reliability risks, developing mitigation strategies accordingly.
  • Document quality assurance activities thoroughly, producing reports and metrics for management review.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and AIT teams to integrate quality processes throughout projects.
  • Provide training to teams to promote a culture of compliance and quality.
  • Stay informed on industry quality standards and best practices in satellite manufacturing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical fields.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in quality assurance, manufacturing, aerospace, or defense sectors.
  • Demonstrated expertise as a Quality Engineer within manufacturing settings.
  • Deep understanding of quality management systems and tools.
  • Experience with complex, precision component development and production.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, collaborative environments.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-stakeholder engagement.

Additional Advantages

  • Hands-on production experience and knowledge of production processes.
  • Familiarity with standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ECSS, MIL, IEC, or equivalents.
  • Certifications in quality assurance or related disciplines.
  • Experience in supplier quality management and performing supplier audits.
  • Background in startup environments.
  • Knowledge of NetSuite Quality Management Software.
