Job description

About the Company

ABP UK is a key part of ABP Food Group, operating manufacturing sites across Ireland, the UK and Europe. The business focuses on developing and supplying premium British and Irish beef and lamb products for retail, foodservice and wholesale customers. As one of the UK’s largest food producers, ABP places strong value on the capability of its workforce and supports long-term careers through secure full-time working hours, competitive pay, structured training, and clear opportunities to develop and move forward within the company.

Role Overview

This position is based in Penston and reports to the Technical Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting product quality, authenticity, legality and food safety, while helping ensure that customer deliveries consistently meet the highest standards.

Key Duties

  • Carry out quality, legal and HACCP checks at the required intervals, making sure all procedures are followed consistently.
  • Document checks promptly and raise any non-conformances through the correct process so action can be taken quickly.
  • Escalate food safety and quality concerns to the Senior QA and Technical teams.
  • Take samples for panels and microbiological testing when needed and submit them to the laboratory.
  • Notify line management of any departure from the company’s or customer’s quality standards.
  • Perform hygiene checks, GMP reviews and fabrication audits at the scheduled times, and monitor the closure of any issues identified.
  • Make sure finished goods are controlled in line with company procedures, using visual standards to assess product quality and highlighting any out-of-specification product to production and the line manager.

Additional Information

This role is intended to support the business in maintaining food safety, compliance and product consistency at a high standard. The company emphasises stable employment, ongoing learning and the chance to build a career within the organisation.
