Job description
Project Overview
This is a greenfield Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) project planned to generate a net power output of 2400 MW. It encompasses the Plant along with Electrical Special Facilities (ESF), situated approximately 50 km northeast of Abu Dhabi city. The role involves participating across the full project lifecycle, spanning design, engineering, construction, and operation phases within a forward-thinking and innovative environment. The tenure is estimated at about 2.5 years, promising stability and a long-term contribution.
Location
The project site is located in Taweelah, Abu Dhabi, UAE, roughly 30 to 40 km from Abu Dhabi city.
Role Summary
Oversee QA/QC activities to ensure quality standards and procedural adherence throughout the execution of the CCGT project.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement QA/QC procedures conforming to the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Contract, and relevant ISO standards.
- Evaluate quality documents, Method Statements and Risk Assessments (MSRA), Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), inspection checklists, and procedures submitted by the EPC Contractor.
- Supervise QA/QC engineers in monitoring and inspecting quality compliance of EPC Contractor’s civil, mechanical, and electrical works as per approved designs and specifications.
- Identify and communicate quality issues to construction teams, offering technical guidance.
- Perform additional duties assigned by Project Manager or Director related to project schedule control.
Qualification & Skills Required
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 10 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 5 years in CCGT power plant projects.
- Experience in GCC countries is considered advantageous.
- Proficient with MS Office suite.
- Demonstrated understanding of international engineering codes and standards such as ASME, API, IEEE, and related regulations.
- Strong leadership capability, effective interpersonal skills, and clear communication to coordinate with EPC contractors and internal teams.
