Job description
Role Overview
This position is for a civil QA/QC engineer responsible for building, rolling out, and supervising quality assurance and quality control systems for a project in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The role focuses on ensuring that project execution follows the approved Project Quality Plan, client-approved procedures, and defined inspection and testing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the Project Quality Plan and put it into practice on site.
- Set up, monitor, and maintain the project QA/QC framework.
- Implement project procedures and the PQP once approved by the client.
- Examine method statements, prepare the related Inspection and Test Plans, and create checklists/forms, securing client approval whenever needed.
- Organize QA/QC tasks and assign responsibilities across the team.
- Train and brief staff, workers, and subcontractor teams on quality standards and expectations.
- Work closely with the site team to ensure the approved PQP is followed effectively.
- Coordinate with subcontractors so that the relevant portions of the PQP are properly applied.
- Track, verify, calibrate, and maintain records of testing and measurement equipment.
- Identify suitable testing laboratories and complete the approval process for them.
- Inspect and test incoming materials and work activities/workmanship in line with the ITP, while keeping records that are clear, traceable, and identifiable.
- Work with the site team to prepare Requests for Inspection (RFIs).
- Coordinate inspections and testing with clients according to the approved ITP and obtain the required clearances.
