QA Engineer / Lead - Telecom (5G Core)

About the Role

Amantya Technologies is looking for an experienced QA Lead / QA Engineer with a strong background in telecom testing, especially around 5G Core solutions. This position is suited to someone who can balance hands-on testing with team leadership, quality planning, and cross-functional coordination.

The role involves shaping the quality process for telecom products and ensuring robust releases through structured testing, defect control, and close collaboration with development, product, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide and oversee the QA function to support dependable and high-quality product releases.
• Create test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scenarios from business and technical inputs.
• Own functional testing across different release cycles from planning through validation.
• Work closely with development, product, and business teams to clarify requirements and confirm full test coverage.
• Track test progress, manage defects, and follow up to make sure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
• Review requirements to identify missing details, risks, and possible quality issues early in the cycle.
• Share test progress updates, quality metrics, and release-readiness reports with stakeholders.
• Coach team members and encourage strong QA practices and continuous improvement.
• Maintain compliance with SDLC, QA procedures, and quality standards.

Required Skills and Experience

• 6 to 9 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
• Strong hands-on expertise in functional testing.
• Experience in the telecom sector, specifically with 5G Core networks.
• Practical exposure to test planning, test execution, defect management, and release validation.
• Good understanding of SDLC and Agile ways of working.
• Experience using defect tracking and test management tools.
• Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and communication skills.
• Prior experience leading or mentoring QA teams.
• Exposure to API testing and integration testing is preferred.
• Knowledge of telecom network functions and protocols used in 5G Core is an advantage.
• Familiarity with automation testing concepts and tools is a plus.

Eligibility

Applicants should hold a B.Tech / B.E. degree in any specialization.

This is an onsite position based in Gurugram, India. The job summary also references Bangalore as the location.
