Role Overview
We seek a meticulous and proactive QA Analyst to join our quality assurance team. The role involves supporting QA efforts across Web, API, and Mobile technologies. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Developers, and fellow QA colleagues to comprehend requirements, identify quality risks, design thorough test coverage, and conduct both functional and regression testing throughout development stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze user stories, acceptance criteria, designs, and technical specifications to uncover test cases, dependencies, gaps, and potential quality risks.
- Create, document, review, and maintain comprehensive and clear test cases and scenarios.
- Conduct functional, exploratory, integration, end-to-end, and regression tests on Web applications, REST APIs, and Mobile apps for iOS and Android platforms.
- Validate new functionalities and bug fixes throughout the development process.
- Execute regression testing for releases and facilitate QA approval ensuring product readiness and stability.
- Maintain and enhance the regression test suite to cover critical workflows, new features, and risk-prone areas.
- Coordinate with Developers, Product Owners, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure adequate test coverage.
- Log, document, and manage defects with detailed reproduction steps, supporting evidence, and assessments of severity and impact.
- Participate in defect triage sessions, test planning, release readiness meetings, and quality reporting.
- Assist in preparing test data and verifying test environments.
- Investigate test failures and unexpected system behaviors while collaborating with developers to identify root causes.
- Contribute to ongoing enhancements in QA processes, test coverage quality, and product stability.
- Support automated testing efforts across Web, API, and Mobile environments, collaborating with automation-focused team members to select suitable test cases for automation and maintain effective regression coverage.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- More than three years of experience in software quality assurance or software testing.
- Strong proficiency in manual testing including functional, exploratory, integration, and regression testing.
- Analytical mindset to comprehend requirements, consider edge cases, and evaluate quality risks.
- Experience with testing Web applications and REST APIs.
- Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman or equivalent.
- Good understanding of software development and testing lifecycles.
- Experience using defect tracking and test management tools; Azure DevOps preferred.
- Effective communication abilities for reporting defects, risks, and quality issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and proactively report risks or impediments.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Certification: ISTQB Foundation Level or higher.
- Experience testing mobile apps on iOS and/or Android platforms.
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Detox, or Cucumber.
- Basic knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript programming languages.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, notably Azure DevOps.
- Exposure to mobile device testing or cloud testing platforms such as LambdaTest.
- Experience with performance testing tools like k6 or JMeter.
