Job description

Overview

EY is seeking a Pursuits Strategist to support major opportunities that are critical to winning and retaining business across the Financial Services sector and the New Zealand practice. In this role, you will partner with a Strategic Pursuit Leader to coordinate the operational side of pursuit activity, including proposal and project management, while helping produce polished, client-focused submissions that support strong commercial outcomes.

This is a 12-month parental leave contract running until May 2027. The role can be based from any EY office in Australia or New Zealand, and there may be scope for flexible working with reduced hours depending on suitability.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the end-to-end pursuit process for significant opportunities, making sure proposals are delivered on time, aligned to brand standards, and tailored to client needs.
  • Work closely with pursuit teams and internal partners to shape persuasive value propositions and develop client-facing materials across the bid cycle.
  • Support and coach engagement teams, share proven approaches, and help strengthen pursuit practices across the wider business.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Clear and persuasive writing and communication skills, with a strong client-oriented style.
  • Solid understanding of design and production workflows.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Creative problem-solving approach and a willingness to take initiative in fast-moving environments.
  • Comfort coaching others and contributing knowledge to improve team capability.

Experience and Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in a sales or marketing environment.
  • Substantial experience supporting bid management or bid coordination; experience in professional services is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships across teams and functions.
  • Growth mindset, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to work.

Benefits

  • Opportunities for career development with future-focused learning and global experiences.
  • Flexible working arrangements designed to support work-life balance and autonomy.
  • Wellbeing support, including a yearly wellness incentive.
  • Access to up to 8 weeks of flex leave each year.
  • Family-friendly policies, including up to 26 weeks of gender-neutral paid parental leave.
  • Competitive pay, with salary open to negotiation based on skills and experience.
