About the Role
Join a dynamic team within the Defence Industry as a Purchasing Officer, based in Henderson, Western Australia, with occasional requirements at Garden Island. This permanent, full-time position offers a pathway to growth within procurement. Your role involves managing purchasing activities, including negotiating and submitting Request for Quote (RFQ) packages, overseeing contractual obligations, and supporting procurement initiatives to optimize value and reduce risk.
Candidate Profile
We seek an individual passionate about precision and committed to delivering cost-effective purchasing solutions. Proficiency with ERP systems like IFS and advanced Excel skills are essential, along with strong relationship management and communication capabilities. Membership in professional procurement bodies such as CIPS or ASCI is required. Candidates must be Australian citizens eligible for Defence Security Clearance and hold a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Handle procurement activities including RFQs and contract administration within the Defence sector.
- Review and support current procurement initiatives focusing on risk mitigation and maximizing financial value.
- Measure and ensure adherence to contractual performance criteria.
- Collaborate with procurement teams and subject matter experts to refine purchasing processes and improve operational efficiency.
