About the role
Wynnum Tavern is looking for a capable publican who truly understands hospitality, takes charge from the floor, and knows how to bring the local community together through memorable pub experiences.
About the venue
Located on Wynnum Road in the heart of the town centre, Wynnum Tavern has long served as a key meeting place for the community. It is a spot for family lunches, casual catch-ups over drinks and sport, and celebrations such as birthdays and special occasions. The bistro serves modern dishes alongside classic pub favourites, with fresh ingredients sourced from local and other suppliers. The sports bar provides a contemporary setting, friendly service, and a wide range of cold beer and cider on tap.
What the role involves
- Get to know regular guests by name while keeping close control of venue performance and the profit and loss.
- Operate the venue as though it were your own, with a strong focus on safety, smooth service, and compliance.
- Act as a visible leader in the community and the person who drives a strong, high-performing team.
- Handle issues quickly and calmly before they become larger problems.
- Set the tone for every shift by bringing energy, service excellence, and a welcoming atmosphere.
Requirements
- This position is physically active and includes regular manual tasks such as shifting stock, kegs, and deliveries. Candidates need to be able to carry out these duties safely and efficiently.
- Current RSA and RSG/RCG certifications are required in line with state rules.
Package and benefits
