Role Overview
The Public Relations Manager will work alongside the Head of Public Relations to plan and deliver PR activity for Yas Island’s theme parks and attractions. The position combines media relations, operational support, and cross-team coordination to keep messaging aligned and secure meaningful coverage across both local and international media.
Strategic and Planning Support
- Assist the Head of PR in rolling out PR strategies and amplifying campaigns for Yas Theme Parks & Attractions.
- Help shape key messages, press materials, and PR plans.
- Support crisis communication planning and implementation when needed.
Media Relations and Hosting
- Develop and sustain relationships with media contacts across local, regional, and global markets.
- Handle incoming media queries and requests for interviews.
- Coordinate and host media visits, familiarisation trips, and filming activities.
- Provide on-site support for shoots, launches, and events to keep operations running smoothly.
Coordination and Stakeholder Management
- Work with internal teams such as Brand Marketing, Media Performance, Operations, Procurement, Legal, HSE, Events, and Commercial.
- Partner with external PR agencies to make sure all deliverables are completed on time.
- Align messaging, timelines, and approvals across stakeholders and IPs.
Content and Communication
- Review and refine press releases, talking points, Q&As, briefing notes, and reports.
- Support announcements, new openings, seasonal campaigns, and milestone communications.
- Track media coverage and PR results, then prepare performance reports.
Permits, Agreements, and Administration
- Handle filming permits, media agreements, NDAs, and other required paperwork.
- Ensure work follows internal policies and relevant regulatory rules.
- Monitor budgets, award submissions, invoices, agency scopes, and PR calendars.
- Keep media lists, coverage records, and reporting documents well organized.
Events and Activations
- Support PR delivery for events, launches, and brand activations.
- Manage media attendance and guest coordination.
- Ensure the brand is represented consistently and the storytelling remains on point during on-site activity.
Qualifications and Experience
This role is suited to a professional with a bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or a similar discipline, or someone with equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 5 years in PR is required, ideally gained in entertainment, hospitality, tourism, or theme park environments. A strong media network in key source markets is an advantage. The role also calls for excellent written and spoken communication, strong organization, proven project management ability, and the confidence to manage competing priorities under pressure.
