Role Summary

The Public Policy Manager will act as the main connection point between the Georgia Chamber and Hub Chambers statewide. This position is responsible for strengthening collaboration, supporting policy priorities, and helping turn legislative and regulatory developments into practical tools and communications for members and partners.

Key Objectives

  • Serve as the primary contact for Hub Chambers across Georgia and help advance shared policy goals.
  • Support the Hub Chamber Council through organized communication, meeting support, and resource creation.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with chamber leaders, business executives, public officials, economic development partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Work with Hub Chambers to identify regional business issues and shape policy recommendations and legislative solutions.
  • Act as the Council’s legislative liaison on relevant federal and state matters.
  • Coordinate engagement efforts that move the Chamber’s public policy agenda and strategic initiatives forward.
  • Guide investor-led policy committees and stakeholder groups toward consensus-based recommendations.
  • Convert policy, legislative, and regulatory updates into briefings, resources, and member communications.
  • Represent the Chamber at meetings, events, briefings, and stakeholder convenings across the state.
  • Help deliver grant-supported projects through coalition work, stakeholder coordination, project management, and reporting.
  • Assist in planning and executing Chamber events, policy forums, and leadership gatherings.

Contacts

This role will regularly interact with Chamber leadership, Foundation leadership, public affairs staff, Hub Chamber executives and staff, Council members, policy committee chairs, board members, investors, business leaders, economic development organizations, elected officials, and community and nonprofit partners.

Travel Requirements

Travel is expected to be about 20% within Georgia. The role includes regular attendance at Hub Chamber meetings, regional events, legislative gatherings, and stakeholder meetings. Occasional overnight travel may also be needed.

Required Qualifications

  • A four-year college degree is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in public policy, chamber relations, government affairs, economic development, stakeholder engagement, or a related area.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Relationship management and meeting facilitation experience preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay is determined by experience and skill, with an estimated salary range of $55,000 to $65,000 per year. Benefits include employer-paid 401(k) contributions, assistance with health insurance, employer-paid dental, vision, life, and long-term disability coverage, paid vacation and sick leave, employer-paid parking or a MARTA pass, and employer-paid job-related travel and expenses.
