About the role

DLH Corp is hiring a creative and skilled Public Health Graphic Designer to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia. The position is mostly remote, but occasional on-site participation may be needed for meetings, training sessions, or team events. Applicants should live within a reasonable commuting distance of Atlanta, Chicago, or Washington, DC so they can access secure office locations when required for administrative and security procedures. The selected candidate will partner with public health and communications teams to create accurate, accessible, and engaging materials that support CDC efforts to prevent HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, STDs, and tuberculosis.

Responsibilities

  • Create and refine visual materials for dissemination products such as web pages, social media assets, fact sheets, and related documents.
  • Develop compelling graphics that clearly communicate public health information and campaign messages.
  • Use information from multiple sources to build accurate, readable, and accessible content.
  • Make sure all outputs follow usability expectations and Section 508 accessibility standards.
  • Contribute creative support across multiple health promotion initiatives.
  • Work with public health specialists and communications teams to improve visual storytelling and message clarity.
  • Keep branding, layout, and visual style consistent across all deliverables.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a closely related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience using Adobe Creative Suite tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Demonstrated experience designing assets for print, web, and social media channels.
  • Ability to develop concept artwork and present it for stakeholder review.
  • Capability to organize data and information into polished documents and content pieces.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a NAC clearance.
  • Preferred: experience with HIV prevention campaigns.
  • Preferred: prior work with CDC, HHS, or other federal/state health agencies.
  • Preferred: master’s degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a similar discipline.
  • Preferred: strong organization and interpersonal abilities.
  • Preferred: excellent time management and the ability to juggle several projects under tight deadlines.
