Position Overview
This part-time role involves dedicating approximately 10-15 hours weekly, varying by program phase, to deliver and evaluate Wellness S.P.A. 2.0, a workplace wellness program developed with Wake County Public Health. The initiative includes a six-week curriculum delivered across three consecutive rounds, offering both virtual and in-person options to help staff manage stress, increase engagement, and prevent burnout. The Public Health Consultant I plays a vital role on the team, combining operational tasks and basic data analysis to ensure participants experience a smooth, high-quality program.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the lead facilitator during in-person sessions on Wednesdays at 2 PM, including setup and takedown of spaces and materials for groups of up to 15 participants.
- Manage participant check-ins, track attendance, support session flow, and address logistical needs to enable the facilitator to focus on teaching content.
- Occasionally attend virtual sessions to stay familiar with the curriculum and ensure consistent delivery across formats.
- Help administer surveys at key evaluation points such as baseline, mid-program, post-program, and follow-ups at 30 and 90 days.
- Support the tracking of participants, follow up with outreach efforts, and document incentives to meet program compliance standards.
- Conduct basic data tasks like cleaning datasets, coding qualitative data, and preparing summary outputs under guidance.
- Assist in compiling evaluation reports for each round and contribute to the final summative report.
- Coordinate scheduling, manage calendars, and organize meetings with internal teams and clients.
- Prepare session materials, agendas, participant communications, and deliverables as needed.
- Maintain organized records on SharePoint and shared folders, ensuring accurate program tracking.
- Provide extra support during high-demand periods, including program launches and reporting deadlines.
- Help foster a psychologically safe and inclusive environment for all participants in both virtual and in-person settings.
- Apply foundational mental health and well-being knowledge with cultural sensitivity and participant focus throughout program delivery.
- Report participant concerns or any issues with delivery promptly to supervisors or facilitators.
- Contribute to ongoing quality improvement by documenting observations, session notes, and operational feedback after each round.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in public health, health education, psychology, social work, or a related discipline is required; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Certifications: No specific certifications are required.
- Experience: Preference for candidates with background supporting group health, wellness, or behavioral health programs, familiarity with program evaluation processes, and experience in public health or government-contracted programs.
- Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools including Teams, SharePoint, Forms, and Outlook; adeptness at interpersonal interactions in health or wellness settings; self-motivated and capable of working independently; effective problem solving with participants.
