Public Health Administrator

Position Overview

CORMAC is looking for a seasoned Public Health Administrator to contribute to a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) initiative that focuses on reviewing and assessing applications and State Plans. The chosen individual will engage closely with CMS and State stakeholders to evaluate program submissions, confirm compliance with Federal guidelines, detect trends, and offer recommendations to enhance quality improvement projects benefiting nursing home residents and older adults.

Key Responsibilities

• Review applications, State Plans, and accompanying documents to verify completeness, accuracy, and adherence to CMS standards.
• Analyze quality improvement proposals aimed at elevating care and quality of life for nursing home and elderly populations.
• Evaluate submissions against applicable Federal rules, guidance, and program mandates.
• Spot inconsistencies, compliance gaps, and deficiencies, documenting thorough corrective action suggestions.
• Collaborate actively with CMS personnel, State agencies, and project teams throughout review and assessment phases.
• Perform data analyses and identify trends to aid program tracking, reporting, and decision processes.
• Engage in quality assurance to guarantee consistent and precise evaluations.
• Take part in project planning, stakeholder meetings, and technical working group sessions.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree or above in fields such as Public Health, Health Administration, Public Policy, Nursing, Pharmacy, Healthcare Management, Clinical Sciences, or similar.
• U.S. citizenship or valid Green Card holder.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in public health, healthcare quality improvement, healthcare management, regulatory evaluation, or program assessment.
• Experience examining policies, regulations, guidance, or program prerequisite documents.
• Excellent analytical capabilities, along with strong verbal, writing, and presentation skills.
• Highly organized and detail-focused.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fully remote setting while adhering to deadlines.

Preferred Skills and Expertise

• Background supporting U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, CMS, or similar Federal health programs.
• Experience assessing grant applications, State Plans, or quality improvement programming.
• Familiarity with nursing home quality initiatives, long-term care, or healthcare quality enhancement programs.
• Competence in compliance auditing, policy evaluation, or program reviews.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Access, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Public Health (CPH) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
