About the Role
This full-time housekeeping position is based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, at a hotel property. The role is a non-management position focused on keeping public spaces, employee areas, and related facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for guests and staff.
Key Duties
- Maintain cleanliness in public and employee restrooms and showers.
- Wash glass surfaces in guest-facing and staff areas.
- Clean floors using the appropriate chemicals, supplies, and cleaning equipment.
- Dust assigned surfaces and work areas.
- Remove trash, ashtrays, and ash urns from public spaces and dispose of contents correctly.
- Check furniture for damage such as tears, rips, or stains and report any issues.
- Keep lighting fixtures clean and functioning as needed.
- Place warning or caution signage when needed to reduce traffic through cleaning areas.
- Reach out directly to other departments for urgent repair needs.
- Respond quickly to guest and departmental service requests.
- Identify and report maintenance concerns in public areas or guest rooms.
Work Standards and Safety
- Follow all company rules, safety practices, and security procedures.
- Report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, and injuries promptly.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Store flammable materials properly.
- Keep uniforms and personal appearance clean, neat, and professional.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Greet and acknowledge guests according to company standards.
- Anticipate guest needs, assist guests with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers, guests, and other departments.
- Work with the team to achieve shared goals and quality standards.
Physical Requirements
- Be able to move, lift, carry, and place objects up to 55 pounds without assistance and heavier items with assistance.
- Push and pull cleaning equipment across sloped and uneven surfaces.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Inspect tools, equipment, and machines visually for defects.
- Handle objects of different sizes and weights with good hand-eye coordination and fine motor control.
- Move through tight, enclosed, or elevated spaces.
- Climb up and down ladders.
- Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for long periods during an entire shift.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
