Role summary

In this position, you will lead the day-to-day performance of a multifamily property and guide the team to achieve operational and financial goals. The work combines numbers-focused responsibilities with resident engagement, team leadership, and community-building activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with the Regional Manager and on-site staff to prepare annual budgets, monthly and quarterly forecasts, marketing plans, staffing plans, and capital plans.
  • Improve the property’s financial performance by understanding how operating decisions affect results and by reviewing financial statements and required reports.
  • Recruit, hire, train, motivate, supervise, develop, and evaluate team members.
  • Communicate professionally with residents about concerns, service requests, and other matters through newsletters and other communication channels.
  • Support promotional, social, and content marketing efforts as they evolve.
  • Lead the team in delivering strong service and ensuring the property meets customer expectations.
  • Contribute to staff development while maintaining a high-performing, collaborative workplace.

Required background

  • At least 5 years of experience in multifamily real estate.
  • Strong critical-thinking and analytical ability, especially when setting goals and reviewing results.
  • Comfort using computer software to resolve financial and operational challenges.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting and financial statements.
  • Very good command of written, spoken, and understood English.
  • Demonstrated leadership through actions and day-to-day behavior.
  • A strong sense of humor is valued.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this California role is between $86K and $2100K. Final compensation will depend on experience and other factors allowed by law.
