Property Business Systems and Information Lead

Role Overview

Christchurch City Council is seeking a Property Business Systems and Information Lead to enhance and manage the systems and data underpinning the Council's property portfolio. This role will focus on improving governance, stewardship, and usability of property information, enabling better decision making organisation-wide.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development, governance, and ongoing enhancement of property business systems such as SAP RE-FX and related applications while collaborating with other business units to implement integrated enterprise solutions.
• Serve as an advocate for information management, data governance, and business process improvement to ensure accuracy, reliability, and proper management of property data.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and performance indicators to support operational efficiency, strategic planning, and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with digital, finance, property teams, and external stakeholders to enhance system integrations and data quality to achieve improved business outcomes.
• Provide expert guidance on property systems, reporting, data governance, and information management.
• Strengthen organisational skills and competencies through training, documentation, and best practice dissemination for effective and compliant system use.

Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive experience managing enterprise business systems in complex organisations, preferably within property or asset management environments.
• Knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP systems; familiarity with SAP RE-FX or similar property management software is highly desirable.
• Proven background in business process improvements, data governance or information management initiatives.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert complex information into actionable business solutions.
• Excellent communication abilities and adeptness in stakeholder engagement.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Property, Information Systems, Business, Accounting, Computing or relevant fields, or equivalent practical experience.
• Track record in leading projects around data quality, governance, or process improvements that yield measurable benefits.

Additional Details

• Working hours are Monday to Friday.
• Full-time, permanent position based at Te Hononga Civic Offices, 53 Hereford Street, Christchurch.
• Salary range from NZD 105450 to 117167 annually for a 40-hour work week, dependent on the candidate’s experience and skills.
