Role Overview
We seek a hands-on Project/Product Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Brighton (hybrid). The role involves owning the design, prioritization, and development of a new back office system that manages bookings and availability for venues on our marketplace platform. You will translate business and operational requirements into actionable tickets and guide the project through to successful launch and further iterations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of the back office system, from initial discovery through launch and ongoing enhancements.
- Engage and prioritize requirements from internal teams, including operations, commercial, and customer service.
- Create comprehensive tickets with user stories and acceptance criteria for both design and engineering teams.
- Oversee day-to-day management of the build backlog, including prioritization, sprint planning, and resolving blockers.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and rollout phases, including data migration from existing systems.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience as a Project or Product Manager delivering internal tools or back office systems, preferably within marketplace, travel, or booking contexts.
- Ability to produce clear, actionable tickets and specifications comprehensible to engineers and designers.
- Experience with availability, inventory, or scheduling systems greatly beneficial.
- Proficiency managing multiple stakeholders with competing priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with agile project delivery methodologies and related tools.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical trade-offs to non-technical audiences and vice versa.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with two-sided marketplace platforms involving supply and demand management.
- Background in hospitality, leisure, or travel technology sectors.
Additional Information
This is a contract position based mostly on-site in Brighton, England, focused on the successful delivery of a critical internal system for Spabreaks.com’s operations team.
