Overview
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established main contractor working on major construction schemes in Cork. Role overview
You will oversee subcontract procurement from the initial tender stage through to final award, while also tracking budgets, cashflow projections and overall commercial outcomes. The role involves reviewing subcontractor tenders and commercial submissions, negotiating terms, and managing variations, change instructions and subcontract accounts. You will also work in close partnership with project and site teams to support smooth commercial delivery.
What the employer is looking for
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or a closely related field and bring at least 5 years of experience with a main contractor on large construction projects. A solid grounding in procurement, contract administration and cost control is essential, together with strong commercial judgement and negotiation ability. You should also be comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and contributing effectively within a project team.
