Project Quality Head

Role Overview

This opportunity is for a senior project quality leader to support a large integrated solar PV manufacturing expansion. The role sits within an upcoming Ingot-Wafer-Cell-Module facility and focuses on building and running robust quality systems across the full project lifecycle.

The selected professional will work across design, engineering, and execution functions to define control processes that protect product functionality, quality, and reliability. The position calls for a self-driven individual with strong ethics, sound judgment, and the ability to contribute to a strategic manufacturing mission.

About the Organization

INDOSOL Solar Private Limited is a special purpose vehicle of Shirdi Sai Electricals Limited, a major Indian B2B manufacturing group based in Hyderabad and known for transformer manufacturing. The organization has qualified under the Production Linked Incentive scheme through the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, and is advancing a 10 GW integrated PV manufacturing vision spanning polysilicon, ingot, wafer, cell, module, and glass production.

Project Quality Leadership

• Create and manage project quality plans covering civil, mechanical, electrical, C&I, and gas/chemical work packages from incoming materials through final handover.
• Set up and maintain quality control standards aligned with global engineering expectations and solar industry best practices.
• Review and sign off key quality documents such as inspection and test plans, method statements, and material approval requests.

Team Management and Training

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of quality engineers, inspectors, and document controllers, allocating responsibilities to match site needs efficiently.
• Develop and conduct training for project teams and subcontractors to strengthen understanding of solar construction standards and quality requirements.

Audit, Compliance, and Improvement

• Carry out internal and external audits along with site inspections to confirm compliance with company, statutory, and regulatory quality expectations.
• Monitor subcontractor and supplier quality performance to ensure vendors meet required manufacturing and material standards.
• Perform regular critical checks on project activities to verify adherence to approved plans and specifications.
• Analyze non-conformances, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid repeat issues.

Reporting and Coordination

• Act as the main point of contact for clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders during coordination discussions.
• Prepare and present quality updates for senior leadership, covering project status, inspection results, and key performance indicators.
• Maintain complete quality records and documentation to support audits and project close-out activities.
• Ensure observance of HSE norms, ISO requirements, and all applicable statutory approvals, registrations, and permits.

Experience and Package Exposure

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical engineering and bring 13 to 15 years of experience in leading quality functions for greenfield or brownfield projects. Relevant exposure in sectors such as solar, semiconductor, oil and gas, petrochemicals, chemicals, battery manufacturing, or steel plants is preferred.

Strong experience with transformers, substations, AIS/GIS, LV switchgear, busducts, HT/LT motors, HT/LT power cables, UPS systems, and utility packages such as HVAC, cooling towers, compressed air, process cooling water, specialty gas, bulk gas, argon recovery, chemical systems, process exhaust, ETP, UPW, WTP, STP, fire hydrants, alarms, detection, and protection systems will be highly valued.
